Former Akademi Fantasia celebrity Stacy
Annam, 25, and pop rock band Akim & The Majistret vocalist Akim
Ahmad, 24, today surprised their fans by holding a small engagement
ceremony.
The announcement was made through Astro’s, h! Live Instagram account, which saw a photograph depicting the couple posing at the ceremony with their parents.
It was uploaded several hours ago.
Stacy, who was seen to be cheerful in the picture, was wearing a pink gown, while her parents wore a matching coloured outfit.
Akim, whose real name is Afiq Hakim Ahmad, was clad in green. He also made a brief speech on h! Live.
“Alhamdulillah, my engagement ceremony with my fiancée ran smoothly today,
“Thank you to all those who wished us well and please pray for the best in the future,” said the former Akademi Fantasia celebrity, who won third place in the show’s seventh season.
The location of the closed-door ceremony
was not revealed although it was hinted that it took place in Taman
Melawati, Kuala Lumpur.
The engagement was not anticipated as the
celebrity couple had not revealed anything about it to the media prior
to the ceremony.
Stacy converted to Islam last month. Her new name is Ummu Shaikhah Stacy Anam.
